Christy is originally from Ft. Lauderdale, but raised in Memphis, Christy earned a Bachelor´s in Education from Memphis. Christy and her husband Matt were married in January 2002 and later spent a year in China teaching English. Matt and Christy came to Briarwood in 2005. They have two sons, Matthew and Micah, and a weiner dog named Oscar.

Matt was born in Ft. Sill, OK, but grew up in upstate New York, Tennessee, Maryland, and Maine before finishing high school in Smyrna, TN. He graduated from MTSU in 1998 and has been married to his wife Maggie for 9 years. Prior to coming to Briarwood in 2007 Matt was a Tennessee State Park Ranger for 8 years.
