Dr. Jere Phillips – Interim Pastor

Dr. Jere Phillips serves as Professor of Practical Theology at the Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and is Editor of The Journal of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Phillips received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Union University and the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Ken Ilari  – Worship Pastor

KenIlari-150x150Ken was born and grew up in Louisville, KY.  He graduated from the University of Louisville in 1981 and has been married to his wife Elaine for nearly 35 years.  Ken, Elaine and family initially came to Briarwood in 2001 and spent three years working with church plants in the Albany, NY area before returning in 2009.

Kim Papple – Children’s Ministries Director

KimPapple-150x150Kim was born in Marquette, Michigan.  She attended Northern Michigan University and University of Memphis.  She married her husband Allen in 1995 and has lived down south since.  She and her family first attended Briarwood as a member in January 2005.  She became a staff member in March of 2011.  She has a passion for teaching children about the Bible and God’s love for them.  In her free time she enjoys baseball, photography and cooking.

Catherine Detherow – Church Administration and Finance

CatherineDetherow-150x150Catherine was born in New York, and grew up in Wisconsin.  She attended the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, graduating in 1982.  Catherine and her husband Gary joined Briarwood in 2002.  Catherine enjoys spending time with family and friends, writing, reading, and challenging Gary in word games.
